作为英国浪漫主义时期的卓越诗人，雪莱的诗歌大多是人们耳熟能详的，而 其五幕诗剧钦契却相对受关注较少。国外相关研究数量不多，而且主要集中 在个别领域；国内系统的研究尤显匮乏。事实上，钦契的许多文学特质具有 一定学术价值，能够为深入研究提供不胜枚举的切入点。本文采用“文类学研究” 作为理论框架，探讨钦契是否属于哥特文类的范畴；剖析其具有哪些显著的 哥特特征；这些特征反应了雪莱怎样的政治观，有何深层次的社会意义。 全文共由五个部分构成：第一部分引言首先回顾了国内外对戏剧钦契的 研究现状。其次简要阐明了哥特文类与钦契的内在联系及其意义。 第一章从时代背景出发，介绍了哥特文类和浪漫主义的渊源。并从社会现实、 哲学传统及宗教影响等角度细化了浪漫主义时期影响哥特文类的诸多因素。继而 探究身处该时代的诗人雪莱，对哥特文类的继承和钦契的创作动机。 第二章是对钦契中哥特元素的归纳整理，包括人物、场景、主题三个方 面，这是判定该戏剧为哥特文类的重要依据。 第三章深入挖掘文本，探究钦契剧中人物与当时英国政治的影射关系， 以此探究雪莱本人的政治立场及创作意图。 末尾部分为结论。结论总结了钦契中人物、场景、主题方面所蕴含的丰 富哥特元素，并肯定了该戏剧属于哥特文类；同时揭示，整个剧本缜密的结构深
