14、 happened next?,It is impossible to anticipate when it will happen. 不可能预料这事何时发生。,happened 是happen 的过去式,意思是“发生;碰巧”, 属不及物动词。, sth. + happen + to sb. 表示“某人出了某事”, 常指不好的事。 sb. + happen + to do 表示某人碰巧做了某事。, sth. + happened + 地点/时间,表示某地/某时 发生了某事,此时主语是物。,happen 的用法:,2. 16、moving,sothat,此处so that 引导结果状语从句,意为“如此以至于”,so是副词,常用来修饰形容词或副词。,常用句型为:主语+谓语+so+ adj./adv.+ that从句。,She is so young that she cant look after herself.她如此小以至于不能照顾自己。,so that 的用法,(1)引导目的状语从句时,意为“以便,为了”, 从句中常使用can/could/may/might/will/would /should等情态动词或助动词。,(2)引导结果状语从句时,意为“因此,所以”, 从句中一般不用can和may等词,so that

Instead, he plays all day and all night.他从不工作,却整日整夜地玩。,作状语修饰整个句子时,通常位于句末;如果位于句首时,常用逗号隔开。,instead of“代替;而不是”,后可跟名词、代词或动名词。 instead“代替;反而;却”,作副词,可修饰整个句子,常位于句首或句末。,辨析 instead of 与 instead :,6.
