2.Specialconditionsforsafeuse

IfaloadcellisusedasEExiaorEExib,thenitmustbeconnectedtocertifiedintrinsicallysafecircuits.Terminalsusedinbetween,mustcomplytoEN60079-11.ForEExnA,1D,2D,or3Duseofloadcellsthefreeendofthepermanentlyconnectedcablemustbeconnectedoutsidethehazardousareaor,wheninsidethehazardousarea,inanenclosurewithasuitabletypeofexplosionprotectionandinaccordancewiththerequirementsofthetypeofprotectionapplied.Fortheparametersoftheintrinsicallysafecircuits,refertotheelectricaldataattheinstallingdrawing521302.

3.Installation

Installinhazardous(classified)locations/explosiveatmospheresperdrawing521302.

Ricktolife!:Neveruseloadcellsinapotentiallyexplosiveatmospherewhicharenotcorrectlycertified.Useshunt-diodebarriersforloadcellinstallationinpotentiallyexplosiveatmospheres.Whenusingmorethanonebarrierchannelinacircuit,ensurethatthecombinationofvoltagesandcurrentscanbesafelyappliedinthatparticularhazardousarea.InstallloadcellsinaccordancewiththeapplicableEU.Thecircuitistobeconsideredasbeingconnectedtoearthduetosurgeprotection.

Topreventloadcellfrombeingdamagedduringinstallation,itisstronglyrecommendedtousedummyloadcellsormountingassembliesthatcanbe“locked”.Loadcellsshouldbehandledwithcare,especiallythosewithalowratedcapacityorwithmetalbellowsconstruction.Whenconnectingpolarizedshunt-diodebarriers,donotconnectthewrongpolarity.Itwilldestroythebarrier!Cablesusedmustalwaysbesuitablefortheenvironmentinwhichtheyaretobeused.Manyindicatorscompensateforlinevoltagelossesbyincreasingtheirvoltageoutput.Donotpassthecompensationlimitoftheindicator!Nevercarryloadcellsbytheircables.

Avoidedelectricweldingafterinstallationofloadcells.Ifweldingisnecessaryandtheloadcellscannotberemovedthendisconnecteachindividualloadcellcablefromthejunctionboxormeasuringdevice.Inordertoavoidacurrentpaththroughtheloadcells,placeanearthingclampinthecloseproximityoftheweld.Furthermore,connectaflexiblecopperleadovereachloadcell.Neverusemountingboltstopullunevensurfacestogether-useshimsasappropriate.Neveruseexcessiveforcewhenfittingortighteningmountingboltsorhardware,especiallyonlowcapacitycells.Donottwist“S”cellswhentighteningthreadedfittings.

4.UseandMaintenance

4.1Pleasenotethatloadcellsmaybedamagedbecauseof(shock)overloading,lightningstrikesorheavysurges.Incurrent,chemicalormoistureingress,mishandling(dropping,liftingwithcable,etc),vibration,seismic,seismiceventsorinternalcomponentmalfunction,Inspectloadalsobeforeandaftertheseasons.Givespecialcareandattentiontocriticalareasoftheloadcellsuchasmetalbellows,sealsetc.Regularlyinspectforcorrosiondamagetotheloadcellandmountinghardware.Ifpractical,carryoutcleaningandanyremedialwork(paintorotherprotectivecoating).Donotallowbuild-upofdebrisaroundloadcellsormounts.

4.3MaintenanceandServiceProceedings

Inordertoensuretheinstruments,scaletobeusednormallyandprolongtheirlifetime,wemustobeytothefollowingrules:

(1)Donotuseindicatorsunderstrongsunlight,theplacingareashouldbeflat(2)WhenLoadcellisputteditinaplacefullofdusts,pleaseremovedusttermly.(3)Weight(includingtareweight)forbidsexceedingmaximumratedamount.

(4)Ifthemachinecan’tbeusedforalongtime,powersupplyswitchshouldbetakenofffrompowersupplywhichcanbeverygoodconnectiontoearth.

(5)Forbidusingstrongsolvent(e.g.)tocleanshell.(6)Forbidsoakingwaterinindicator.

(7)Ifthereissomeproblemoccurringintheprocessofusing,pleasecutpowersupplyandstoptryingifheisnon-professionaloperatorsandgiveindicatortorepairinprofessionaloffice.

(8)Don’tchangecircuitorsomeelectronicpartsofanapparatusmodelsconnectedwithcircuit.4.4Repairmenandmaintainingservice

(1)Ourcompanycanprovideoneyearmaintainingguaranteeserviceforsellingproducts(includingsomeplatformscale,tablescale,truckscale,vehiclescaleandsoon.Themaintainingguaranteeservicebeginsfromsellingdayandeachyearourcompanywillprovidetechnicalserviceaftersalesforalltheproductssometime.

(2)Duringmaintainingguaranteeservicetimeifourproductsexistproblemswhicharecausednotbycustomers’wrongoperationornon-forcemajeurenaturaldisaster,ourcompanywillhaveresponsibilitytorepair.

(3)Ourcompanydoesn’tagreecustomerstorepairbythemselvestoavoidexpandproblems.Ifduetocustomers’repairmanoccursextraproblemsevenitisinmaintainingguaranteeservicetimeourcompanywillnotprovidefreeservice.

(4)Generallyspeaking,whennon-loadcellscustomersornon-weighinginstrumentcustomersuseourproductsiftheproblemsoccur,theproductsshouldbesenttocompanyorinformcompanyengineers’problemsconditionbyfaxtosolvetheprobleminshorttimeandcorrectmethods.

5.FailureAnalysisandguidanceonpotentialmisuse

5.1FailurePhenomenon

Afterassemblyofascale,thereadingofemptyloadisbigandhardtosettozero.

Weighingcapacityerrorvariesdirectlywiththeincreaseofload,useavometertomeasureinputandoutputimpedance,onelineorseverallinesandotherleadwires’resistancesareverylarge.

Useavometertomeasureinputandoutputimpedance,theresistancesare1100-1410Ω(bridgeresistance700Ω)or500-710Ω(bridgeresistance350Ω)

Lowersensitivity,poorinterference-resistant,widespreadfluctuationofweighingcapacitydata.

5.2Causeanalysis

Overloadorimpactmakesloadcellstodeformintotheplasticwhichcausespermanentdeformation.

5.3Guidance

Raiseandletdownthescalecarefullyandslowly;levelupthescaleseveraltimesaftermountingandletthebearingpointsloadcapacityclosetoeachother,thusavoidabovehalf-capacityloadtosomebearingpointorseveralbearingpointswhenbeingsuspended.Theoutgoinglineshouldbeprotectedwithspringsheath,thusavoidtheleadwirefrombeingextendedorpressedtoslot.Becauseoffoundationpit,dotrialassemblymanytimesandremoveloadcellsifpossible.

Adaptup-side-downmounting,thatistosay,backwardundertheweighingplatform;giveprioritytogroundmountingbysettingslopetotwoends.Ifdesigningfoundationpit,blowingpipediametershouldmeetthedemandforwaterdischargeonrainydays.

Iftheshieldisnotneeded,packitwithinsulatingtapeandputitintojunctionboxtoavoidthetouchwithbridge-typeconnectionterminal.

Thisspeedshouldbelimitedwithin10km/h.
