摘要 凯特肖邦是十九世纪末美国著名的女作家。其中婚姻、母性、 独立、激情、生和死等是其小说永恒的主题。肖邦的代表作觉醒 就是其中一个典型。觉醒中的女主人公埃德娜埃德娜不甘于仅仅 充当一名中产阶级家庭主妇，而是在当时的文化及道德束缚下，为实 现自我觉醒、追寻独立个性进行勇敢的抗争。本文从弗洛伊德精神分 析的角度，运用其三重人格结构学说，探讨了在三重人格即自我、本 我、超我的相互影响、相互作用下，埃德娜经历的从觉醒到死亡的复 杂的心理过程。 本论文分为以下几个部分：导论，简要地介绍了凯特肖邦及其 代表作觉醒在国内外的研究现状、本论文的理论视角，强调本文 与前人在研究侧重点上的不同之处，旨在阐明本研究的价值及其现实 意义。第一章探讨埃德娜觉醒的诱因。令人沉醉的小岛风光以及坦率 热情的克里奥尔人是诱使其觉醒的主要因素。埃德娜长久压抑的本我 在这双重因素的刺激下得到释放。同时，其自我也开始觉醒。第二章， 埃德娜的自我和本我。自我和本我进行转化后，在本能的驱使下，获 得全新自我的埃德娜开始追求独立自我的新生活。第三章“埃德娜的 超我”主要包括宗教、道德准则及埃德娜的母性身份。埃德娜的母性 身份无疑是其追寻自我和独立的最大阻碍，是其永远无法否认和克服 的。第四章论述了埃德娜进退两难的境地。人格结构的三个层次之间 是一种动态的平衡，三者之间必须相互协调、相互合作才能使心理状 态由不平衡达到新的平衡，从而实现生存的胜利。埃德娜的内心深处 存在着本我和自我的冲突和较量，而自我则力图在这此消彼长的二者 之间调解、解决，寻求一种平衡，从而避免人格分裂。埃德娜的自我 冲破超我的限制和束缚，而超我又是如此的强大，致使自我无法调和 二者的冲突，人格结构失衡，最终走向毁灭。尽管如此，埃德娜的死
