一、总体要求：一年级学生每学期阅读英语简易读物或浅显原著2-3本，并做好读书笔记，完成2篇读书报告。二年级学生，要求每学期阅读英语原版小说3-4本，完成2篇读书报告；第二、四学期末组织一次口述所读内容的汇报活动；第四学期用powerpoint汇报；时间810分钟。读书报告字数：一年级约800-1000英语单词；二年级10001200单词。建议各班每学期召开1-2次班内读书报告会（每位学生在报告会上宣讲自己的读书心得），推荐优秀读书活动小组（个人）参加全院（或年级）读书报告会。学院每学年组织一次全院或全年级性的读书报告会或优秀读书报告竞赛活动。二、读书报告格式On Wordsworth and Emersons Conception of Nature（题目字居中，加粗Times New Roman小三）空一行Yu Lianjun, Class 2, 2008, Foreign Languages School（居中，加粗Times New Roman小四号）空一行I. IntroductionIn the introduction part, information about the book, the author, and his times should be covered. A brief account of the authors life should be given together with a description of his times. The latter should include the circumstances that led to the writing of the book under discussion and the historical and social background related to the content of the book.II. The Story or A Summary of the BookA summary should be self-contained, clear and easy to understand. Comments on and criticisms of the book should not be mixed with the summary; they can be left to the third part. The summary of a novel or a play is usually written in the present tense, or sometimes in the tense of the original work.III. Comments or My Views on the BookIn this part, the writer expresses his or her own views on the book, names its merits and demerits, and discusses its relevance to the present time.
