General The project is pipe surface protection project of xxxxx . This method of statement is developed for pipe surface protection for pipe surface protection of the entire Sulphide Plat.2. ReferencesApplicable Codes, Standards and Specifications (Kazakhstan) 11373-BD-120270-ES-405 Specification for surface protection 11373-BD-12027-LLI-001 Piping line list ISO 14001, ISO 14064 and the local government HSE regulations For consideration to Health and Safety GOST 14202-69 Facility Pipelines, Identification Coloring, Preventive Signs and Marking Screens GOST 12.4.026-2001 Signal Colors, Safety Signs and Signal Marking, Purpose and Rules of Application ASTM A123/A123M-12 Stand Specification for Zinc(Hot-Dip Galvanized) Coatings on Iron and Steel Products SSPC-SP 2, SSPC-SP 3 For hand tool cleaning or power tool cleaningAll work shall comply with the requirements of the latest issues of relevant Local and/or International codes and standards.3. Construction Preparation3.1 Technique preparationStudy the design and construction drawings to clear the construction scope of Page 4 of 22project requirements, and familiarize with the relevant national regulations and specifications; mobilize the construction materials according to schedule and construction sequence; on-site construction personnel shall be familiar with the construction process and the related technical requirements, and work to the QA/QC and schedule requirements. A method statement shall be prepared and submitted for approval before construction. Determine reasonable construction sequence and construction methods, to ensure that work is done in sequence.3.2 Allocation of Labor ResourcesMobilization of personnel shall be arranged according to installation tasks and construction period, and personnel requirement should be mobilized immediately to adhere to construction schedule. Before approaching and coming into use, Machinery and equipment shall be checked by safety department and certified.According to the test ledger, before the construction check the measuring Page 5 of 22instruments and metering equipment for calibration by relevant departments,make sure that during the construction period the construction paint work progress will not be affected due to the expired calibration certificate of measuring instruments and metering equipment. Pipe Surface Protection Process 4.1 Material for InspectionAll materials arrived on site must go through inspection and accepted by KPBV. Only those materials approved for acceptance can be applied in this project. Page 6 of 224.1.1 Painting Pipe Acceptance All materials used in the works shall be new and conform to the latest revision Pipe Material Specification, 11373-BD-12027-ES-602_1 and 11373-BD-12027-ES-405_5 Engineering Specification Surface Protection. All materials shall be supplied complete with the full material certification,MSDS(Material Safety Data Sheet ) and the full traceability of these materials shall be maintained through the life of the project. All piping materials shall be without any existing defects such as crack, enfoldment, isolated layer and scar.4.1.2 Paint Acceptance All materials used in a particular paint system shall be products of one brand name supplied by one manufacturer, with MSDS. Product data detailing manufacturers application instructions shall be obtained by the Supplier, and made available for reference at each point of application. All paint materials shall be delivered to the shop or site in the manufacturers original containers with labels and seals unbroken. 4.2 Surface TreatmentIt shall adopt the method of Power Tool cleaning for surface treatment, for where Power Tool cleaning is not applicable, the method of hand tool cleaning shall be used as per SSPC-SP2 or NACE equivalents. 4.2.1 Power Tool Cleaning The Power Tool cleaning shall be used as per SSPC-SP3 or NACE equivalents All rust cleaning surfaces will be accordance with Pipe Coating System Page 7 of 22Table 2 A minimum of 100mm around the edge of the rust cleaning area shall be left un-primed unless adjoining a coated surface. Rust cleaning shall be performed in an area away from painting operations and freshly coated surfaces.
