uestrangulation.7.Afterthefirstloopistied,itisnecessarytomaintaintractionononeendofthestrandtoavoidlooseningofthethrowifbeingtiedunderanytension.8.Finaltensiononfinalthrowshouldbeasnearlyhorizontalaspossible9.Thesurgeonshouldnothesitatetochangestanceorpositioninrelationtothepatientinordertoplaceaknotsecurelyandflat.10.Extratiesdonotaddtothestrengthofaproperlytiedknot.Theyonlycontributetoitsbulk.SURGEON’SKNOTWhitestrandplacedoverextendedindexfingeroflefthandandheldinpalmoflefthand.Purplestrandheldbetweenthumbandindexfingerofrighthand.SURGEON’SKNOTPurplestrandcrossedoverwhitestrandbymovingrighthandawayfromoperatoratanangletotheleft.Thumbandindexfingeroflefthandpinchedtoformloopinthewhitestrandoverindexfinger.SURGEON’SKNOTLefthandturnedinwardbypronation,andloopofwhitestrandslippedontoleftthumb.Purplestrandgraspedbetweenthumbandindexfingeroflefthand.Releaserighthand.SURGEON’SKNOTLefthandrotatedbysupinationextendingleftindexfingertopasspurplestrandthroughloop.Regrasppurplestrandwithrighthand.SURGEON’SKNOTTheloopisslidontothethumbofthe
