Grammar and usage (the first period) Future Continuous Tense一教学目标: Learn Future Continuous Tense.二教学重难点: How to use Future Continuous Tense 方法设计:Step 1 Lead in (分层次问题学习A)Look at the following sentences and try to explain why the tense is used in these sentences.1. We leave London on 15 July, and well be taking a flight to Morocco, in northern Africa. 2. Since we will be walking for almost two weeks, Ill need to buy a large backpack in advance to carry my supplies of food and water.Step 2 structure and usages(分层次问题学习B)1. 构成: will/shall be + 现在分词 2. 常用的时间状语: soon, tomorrow, this evening,on Sunday, by this time tomorrow,in two days, tomorrow evening e.g. By this time tomorrow, Ill be lying on the beach. 3. 用法:(1)表示将来某一时刻或某一时间段正在进行的动作。e.g. I will be visiting Europe next week(2)表示一个在将来某一时刻之前开始, 并有可能还要继续下去的动作。e.g. Colin will not be in London on the 5th September. He will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.(3) 表示预期即将发生的或势必会发生的动作,没有事先安排,事情的正常发展是有客观情况决定的。e.g. Ill write to you. (I want to write) Ill be writing to you. (just a mere statement of fact, without intention) It is reported that it will be snowing when we arrive in New York.(4) 有礼貌地询问别人的计划或打算。e. g. Will you be visiting your uncle in London?Step3 思考与讨论(分层次问题学习C)将来进行时和一般将来时的区别:(1). 一般将来时通常表示将来有意愿的动作,而将来进行时则把将来的动作作为事实来陈述。e.g. Tom wont go to New York this summer. (他拒绝去那儿) Tom wont be going to New York this summer. (仅仅陈述一个事实, 没有感情的流露)(2). 一般将来时还可以表示邀请、请求或命令, 而将来进行时仅仅陈述一个事实。e.g. Will you help me carry these books to the office?(请求) Will you come to my birthday party this weekend? (邀请) You will work in this room. I was just about to dive into the sea when I saw a shark.Step 2 The usages of the future in the past(分层次问题学习B)1. 构成:would/should +动词原形 2. 用法: (1)表示在过去某个时间看将要发生的动作或存在的状态。e.g. They were sure that they would win the final victory. (“be sure” happened in the past, the action “win the final victory” happened in the future compared with action of “be sure”)(2)表示过去习惯性的动作e.g. On Sunday he would go to see his grandparents. Father would get up early and go fishing on Sundays if the weather was fine.思考:was/ were used to do 与 would do 的区别_ (3) 表示过去的愿望, 多用于否定句,可翻译为“不会,不愿意”e.g. I told him not to do like that, but he wouldnt listen to me. He failed over and over again, but he wouldnt give up.(4) 表示客气的请求(意思接近could/will you)e.g. Would you give me a hand?Step3 Other forms of future in the past(分层次问题学习C) (1) was/were going to do 表示按计划或安排过去将要发生的动作。(强调主观意图)e.g. We were going to see the wild animals, but then we didnt have time.(2) was/were to do 表示按计划、安排或规律过去将要发生的动作。(强调客观性或注定要发生) e.g. It was his last day at school, and he was to leave the next morning.They said goodbye to each other and didnt know they were never to meet again.(3) was/were about to do 表示过去即将要发生的动作, 意思是“正要做某事,就要做某事”。一般不与具体时间连用, 但可与when引导的时间状语从句连用。e.g. Colin was about to get off the camel when a child ran towards him.
