科学隐喻的认知机制学科专业：外国语言学与应用语言学导师：曾贤模研究方向g 认知语言学研究生：左燕l 摘要l 本研究旨在现有理论的基础上对科学隐喻的认知机制进行进一步的探索。霹前越来越多的人已经意识到隐喻在科学语言中的广泛使用。此外，入们也认识到隐喻不仅仅是一种修辞手段，两是看待世界的一种认知方式。当代隐喻理论研究深深渗透到人类认知领域，使得隐喻成为语言学、认知科学和哲学的重大课题。科学隐喻，以及隐喻和科学隐喻的形成正受到越来越多的国内外专家们的关注。然而，对于科学隐喻的研究仍然处于初级阶段。科学技术圈新月异，新的理论、新的术语、新的应用不断涌现。在本研究中我们运用f a u c o n n i e r & t u r n e r 所提出的概念整合理论( t h e o r yo fc o n c e p t u a lb l e n d i n g ) 作为理论基础，对一系列科学语言中的术语和隐喻现象进行分析，探讨了概念整合理论在科学隐喻中的应用及意义。我们发现：科学中的术语大多是隐喻性的；概念整合是人类重要的认知机制。经过分析，发现很多隐喻性表达都涉及n - 个以上的心理空间的认知运作，经过一系列的结构映射( s t r u c t u r ep r o j e c t i o n ) 和整合过程，产生了一个突变结构( e m e r g e n ts t r u c t u r e ) 。这一突变结构并不是隐喻所涉及的二个源结构与靶结构的简单相加，而是有独特的内容，有质的变化，在整合空间中产生新的语义，也就是它们的隐喻意义。概念整合尤其擅长于解释新隐喻或复杂的隐喻。然而，尽管概念整合在人类认知过程中占据重要地位，它却不能解释所有科学隐喻现象。通过分析，我们发现科学隐喻的运作过程中也存在大量的类比和概念隐喻。这种类比可能是科学与日常生活之间的类比，也可能是不同学科间的术语借用。不同于文学隐喻的是，科学隐喻存在更多类比；同时也存在相当数量的概念隐喻。科学隐喻也具有不同与文学隐喻的特征：1 ) 科学隐喻产生的动机往往是出与科学认知或命名的需要，而文学隐喻大多是出于追求特殊表达效果的需要；2 ) 在映射过程上，科学隐喻往往是从一个源域到一个靶域的映射，而文学隐喻则是可从多个源域映射到一个靶域；此外，科学隐喻通常是从简单到复杂，从具体到抽象，i v从熟悉到陌生的映射，而文学隐喻有时可能相反；3 ) 科学隐喻一虽成功形成，便会成为构成理论的一部分，具有普遍、精准的含义，并在理论发展中起作用，而文学隐喻则会受到不同文化因素的约束。关键词：隐喻科学隐喻认知机制概念整合概念隐喻t h ec o g n i t i v em e c h a n i s mo fs c i e n t i f i cm e t a p h o rs p e c i a l t y ：f o r e i g nl i n g u i s t i c sa n da p p l i e dl i n g u i s t i c so r i e n t a t i o n ；c o g n i t i v el i n g u i s t i c ss u p e r v i s o r ：z e n gx i a n m om a 。c a n d i d a t e ：z u oy a nl a b s t r a c t t h ep r e s e n tt h e s i si n t e n d st oe x p l o r es o m en e wt h i n g so nt h ec o g n i t i v em e c h a n i s mo fs c i e n t i f i cm e t a p h o r a ni n c r e a s i n gn u m b e ro fp e o p l er e a l i z eo n ee v e r -
